Three Days, Three Quotes Challenge #Day 3

Thank you so much to the incredibly talented author of the blog HappymessHappiness for nominating me. This is my first time being nominated for this tag so I am very excited.

The rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Post a quote for three consecutive days.
  3. Nominate three bloggers each day.

This quote is by Dr.Iqbal who is known as the “Poet of East” and probably the greatest philosopher/poet of all times. Most of his literary work is in Urdu and Persian. Along with his deep spiritual knowledge he also had a great insight on the modern day European civilization and the relation of a mankind with technology.

Throughout his work he preached one thing constantly which was self-love. Here is one of my quotation from Dr. Iqbal’s work.

Democracy is a system where people are counted not weighed.

Allama Iqbal

Democracy is a system where people are counted not weighed. – does this mean democracy favours quantity not quality? Drones instead of free-thinkers?

    1. Dr. Iqbal’s philosophy is way deeper than my understanding but yes I think he has tried to remind people that opinions of minority matter as much as the majority. Majority should no always have the authority.

And just because you are in the majority, it doesn’t mean you are right. The minority is still an aspect of the whole, and makes the whole so therefore the minority is also the majority. The majority’s decisions will affect the minority.
We’re so philosophical. I love it. XD
